Adding a Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Max for routing and DHCP

I have been giving some consideration to adding a Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Max to my current home network. I currently have an RT-AX88U Pro as my main router along with two mesh nodes. I plan on putting the 88U in AP mode to just let it handle the Wifi connections. I have a few questions. My biggest concern is, will my SSID remain the same? I know all my device ip addresses will change. Will I have to re-setup up any ports I forwarded, in the past, in the Ubiquiti now and if so I guess that it will be to the ip address assigned by the Ubiquiti. I was wondering if anyone else is using a setup like this? Is there anything else I might not have thought about? I am looking to do this more as a "science/learning" project more than anything else.

You don't have to rely on DHCP for device addresses unless they do not allow you to set a static address.
For the rest, just set the DHCP server in the UB to the same address range you are currently using in the ASUS.

You set the SSIDs manually for the ASUS. The AP settings determine what the SSIDs used are named. The UB has nothing to do with it unless it can manage the ASUS APs.

If you were port forwarding for outside, then yes you will have to set up the same rules in the UB.

Everything you have said is what I pretty much thought. Needed to just make sure.

No much point of it if you can't use the full potential of complete UniFi system. Your AiMesh behind it still has the same limitations. The thread below may be useful in your case, but forget about AiMesh.
