AE1000 wireless adapter

Bought a Cisco/linksys AE1000 wireless adapter back in March of 2012 for using with software inSSIDer, and it died last night. The little blue light started to fade away and when I pulled the unit from the remote USB stand, the adapter USB connector was very hot to touch, after that was very concern about the computer USB port since this unit most likely was shorting out to generate that much heat. Went to Cisco site to send off a letter of concern, their site is not very user friendly. Anyone else had issues with this adapter, I need to buy another adapter to use with the software Thanks

You should contact Tech support via phone and I am sure they'll send you out another one for free. Might charge you for shipping or ask you too return the defective one back to them.
