Hey all. I will keep this short and to the point. I have been running AI mesh on 3 Asus routers since AI mesh came out by Asus. I purchased 3 new 86u's and kept my trusty old Asus 3100. One of the 86U's is my main router and the 3100 is downstairs running in wireless mesh mode and the second 86U is upstairs in my loft and running ethernet backhaul wired mode.

All routers are up to date as I check religiously. I noticed since the last update that my 86U Aimesh router keeps losing it's 2.4ghz clients. I have the router on a desk and have my wink hub connected to it as well as a couple of computers. Wired connection is fine but I have a few smart plugs as well as my Dlink cameras that always seem to lose wifi connection every day or so.

I have to reboot the 86U or turn off the wifi and back on to restore the clients. my 3100 has no issues as well as the main 86U. I have scoured other similar threads and I see that disabling beam-forming may help. The issue only started with the last firmware update that I can remember. Anyone have any suggestions? I have all router settings at default.

You have 3 86Us but only use 2 plus the 3100?

If you have a spare 86U, then swap it in to see what happens.

Or swap around the 2 in service to see if the disconnects follow the suspect 86U or stop occurring on the other 86U.

Have you factory default reset recently?

Try turning off Airtime fairness under Wireless\Professional for the troubled client band.

Hi ozark-Sorry for that. it was a misprint. I meant that I have 3 Asus routers. 2 86u's and the 3100. I have not tried the suggestions u offer. i don't think it is the router as I stated, it worked perfectly since the last firmware update. i guess i could remove it from the node and factory reset and add it again, but I don't see why it would have this issue other then it being firmware related or maybe a wireless setting. Thanks for the reply btw!

go back to previous firmware if it solves your problem, then you will know wether it is firmware related.
