So, every blue moon I pull out a wifi radar type app and look at the neighborhood and how my wifi signals are interacting, as in, being interfered with. Well, somewhere along the line, the router decided to go to auto channel selection which I really don't like. So, I dutifully found the space with the least interference and selected that channel for both 2.4 and 5 GHz. Then I rebooted and waited - overnight. I've come to the conclusion that networks just adjust at a snail's pace, and that's fine - it's my pace too. Well I have four old mesh units (I never retire my old routers, I just send them to mesh hell), and occasionally I pick a bargain buy off of ebay to handle a particularly difficult corner of the basement, garage, attic, or with appropriate placement, for sending a good signal to an outdoor iot device.

Yeh, I know, that's quite a mix, and maybe I'm just lucky they all work "somewhat together" at all. Anyway, all units have the latest Merlin firmware except the 1750b which is latest stock, and although I'm figuring Merlin probably has no access to AImesh code, you guys are all experts, so I'm still asking the following:
The next day I take a look and two out of four units switched to the appropriate channels on the 2.4 GHz band, but only one of four switched to the selected channel on the 5GHz band. I then went through the slow task of individually rebooting and waiting for each unit to start restart again and finally they matched channels. Why is this necessary? Why can't AImesh handle such a simple adjustment? It's not a big deal, but it just seems like AImesh is a marketing afterthought these days that never gets much attention (look at all the posts that complain about initial setup).
Oh, and talk about neglect, don't get me started about what looks to be Asus's abandonment of the AXE16000.
