We have xFinity Triple Play and generally we're OK with it, but I also have a VPN and I'd like to set up the VPN within the router itself, so all devices connected... wired or wifi are protected. My Brother-In-Law in NJ doesn't have the phone setup, but he does have his VPN running directly from his Linksys WRT3200ACM router, and he's using a Arris Surfboard SB6183 as his modem. His internet provider is Optimum. He uses a utility from a site called DD-WRT.
So I'm wondering where the phone connects to the two-component system, and which components are fully compatible with xFinity? If this is in the wrong section, please feel free to move it to the appropriate one.
