Aside from it's inventory of indoor and outdoor cameras, Blink just recently announced a video doorbell, an obvious competitor to Ring products, especially since it comes with a modest $99 price tag for existing Blink customers. It also has a touted battery life of two years (it uses AA batteries). Amazon already has it's own Cloud Cam cameras and Amazon Key system, however a video doorbell camera would definitely compliment the company's smart home product line-up.
It seems not much will change for Blink's existing customers post-acquisition. Blink's short press announcement mentions, "If you own one of our systems, nothing changes for now. We’ll continue to operate under the Amazon umbrella selling and supporting the same great products you know and love."
