Anyone able to answer a few merlin FW asus AC66U questions?

1. whats diff between disabled and none for compression?
2. Why is there no yes under redirect traffic. Basically I want internet not to work when VPN is down. I have tried using policy rules, and all and whenever I enable anything on that setting I can't get any internet access despite being connected to VPN.
3. Any tricks to speed it up, with PPTP i get about 10, and with openVPN following nordvpn instructions i get 5 Mbps, when without any I get about 100. It's not the CPU as the cores don't seem to be utilized much.
4. Why won't the following settings work, I am unable to connect through VPN see picture.
