Anyone here have seen an ATA over Ethernet box in action? I have been reading about it and it seems too good to be true. Networking over cheap Ethernet without the overhead cost of TCP/IP. It looks like the only company that sells AoE boxes is Coraid. Given that AoE is an open standard and has been around at least since 2005, I would think I can buy on Amazon some AoE Ethernet NICs or even AoE programs installed on the OS that use regular Ethernet NICs to transmit the data.
