AP to pair with my AX86U question

What would be a solid Asus AX router with dual 2.5 gig ports, to pair with my AX86U? Running GIG network and contemplating the idea.

Over and out.

Actually, good question...Maybe I'm an idiot here, but I'd say AP since I'd lose bandwidth using as Mesh, with out tri band running the back end, riiiight? House is hardwired and I can tie them together on 2.5 ports at distance, if I go this route.

PS. I know this is overkill, and have great coverage overall. Just flooding the zone per say :D

Another AX86U. You do not really need the 2.5 GB port(s). A solid 1 GB Ethernet backhaul can out perform the WIFI.
Or an AX86U Pro for the main router and use the AX86U as an AiMesh node. Works well for me and I have the 2.4 GHz set to 20 MHz and the 5 GHz set to 80 MHz. Both on auto channel no DFS.

Oh, FWIW, I've had connection issues with the 2.5 GB router port to the 2.5 GB AiMesh node port.

I like to max out my speed off the modem and the 2.5 ports, as I test up to 1.4 at the modem. I'll take everything I can get off the hardwire, with the wifi overhead hit.
