For some reason the firmware narrows the range of allowed symbols, but according to specs, e.g. '╭∩╮(-_-)╭∩╮' is a perfectly correct name. Please fix it.

It won't be "fixed". I seem to remember Merlin saying that whilst special symbols might be valid for SSID's they caused problems elsewhere in the ASUS code so the range of characters is deliberately restricted.
 
Exactly, and not all clients do unicode correctly...

Best to stay within the US-ASCII (roman letters) character set...
