Astrill VPN addon always dissapears

Hi Dudes,

I am trying to install the Astrill VPN Addon on the Asus RT-N66U.

After every reboot the addon is gone again.

I tried nearly every firmware on the download page and some of the "Archived" Folder.

I've rebootet severeal times after enabling "jffs partition" and "Format JFFS partition at next boot" but the second button always jumpes back to "No".

I followed the simple steps on the astrill wiki:

Is there any firmware without that bug or another button to klick?
I've been rebooting from Friday 16.00 'till 02.30...

Using 3.0.0.4.374.34_2-sdk5 so far no problem. I'm also following the same steps in astrill wiki.

I noticed the same thing and when I contacted Astrill I was told that Astrill tab does not survive a reboot, however, once it has been installed it will automatically reinstall itself with five minutes of rebooting. I have tested this and it seems to happen for me. I am however running a 2.9 beta version.

What does not survive a reboot and reinstall itself are any setting that you might have made. Not a big problem for most settings with the exception if you keyed in a list of numerical public IPs for sites to either require using the VPN tunnel or exclude using the IP tunnel. I keep my list in a text file which I can cut and paste into the list box.

This is of things that irritates me about the router application versus the PC APP is that while you can type in sites names in the PC APP on the router you actually have to type in the numerical IP.

This happens on my Cisco E3000 router too with DD-WRT using PPPoE. 'My Page' is blank on reboot.

I think Astrill needs an internet connection on startup to install/run itself.

So as a workaround, I always ensure ADSL is active on my bridge-mode modem (with ADSL LED on) and only then turn on E3000.

Using 3.0.0.4.374.34_2-sdk5 so far no problem. I'm also following the same steps in astrill wiki.

Does the reinstalled 5 minutes brake include an already active vpn connection or do i have to start it manually each time?

What firmware version?

Pretty all them on the main download page, i guess i online left out two or three.

Well... what's left to say.

Thx @Developer and Support, i probably should be more patient.

The Astrill Addon takes some time to come back (from wherever it disappeared) after a reboot, but seems to work fine and is connecting automaticly.

Sry, i'm a former DD-WRT User, not familiar with Merlin.

Get a Bitcoin/Quarkcoin Donation and i will pay my duty, as installing and rebooting senseless for half a day is not enough penance.
