Hello

I would like to replace the antennas on this router (86u pro)
but only the 2.4 band antennas because the new antennas is only for 2.4ghz.

Looking at the router from the side of the led lights.
is the 2.4 antenna the one on the left, in the middle or on the right?
even though all 3 wifi antennas are for 2.4g as well as for 5g, if the new antennas I will install are 2.4 and I have the 5 broadcast turned off, is there a chance that the 5g chip will burn out?

Thanks

Don't
Unless you are a RF engineer.
Usually does not help. The client device is what limits a connection in most of the cases anyway. Changing the antenna on the AP does not change the client. The client may hear the AP, but the client radio cannot reach the AP and thus increase the potential bandwidth.

All three external antennas are dual-band, the forth internal antenna is 5GHz only, PCB type. Don't change the antennas on a home router, the device was tuned and certified with factory antennas. Some devices allow antenna replacement (like Ubiquiti UK-Ultra access point), but the available options are factory made and the settings contain antenna type used.

Changing the antenna on the AP does not change the client. The client may hear the AP, but the client radio cannot reach the AP and thus increase the potential bandwidth.

It depends on what the antenna was changed to. Higher dBi antenna will work both ways, but the beam will be narrower and the client has to be inside the beam. Some outdoor access points (actually bridges with AP option) with 9-15dBi antenna options will shoot 2.4GHz Wi-Fi a kilometer away to common 2.4GHz client and make links 5+ km away to another similar bridge.
