New Around Here
Dear All

Please give me good adivce..

My situation..

ASUS AC68 with Merlin new firmware.
2 Mac book air
1 Windows
1 Android
1 iPhone and Pad.

Main computers are MAC.

I bought new Samsung D3 Station 4TB.

I tried many format to use it for USB 3.0 connection to ASUS AC68.
But all of time I failed…. Router can not recognize the hard drive or fail to write on it.

What is best way to use both win and mac?
I tried FAT32, exFAT, NTSF for both…

I can not find best answer to use…
Please help me the way…

I would consider returning the D3.

Seems it simply is not built for the use you need. Not to mention that it will stay powered on, there is no option to allow the drive to sleep as long as it is plugged in.

Not sure what you mean by that, all my connected USB drives to the router sleep after 120s not being used, the controller itself does that, not a router option.

I have a 4Tb NTFS Western Digital disk attached to my RT-AC68u, and it works well.

There's a lack of energy-saving features with the drive – it powers off with your computer or when the USB cable is removed, but powers on independently of it when you first flick the electricity switch. There also appears to be no means of putting the drive to sleep when it's not in use. The enclosure itself isn't serviceable, so you can't replace the drive easily should you later want to upgrade or renew it.

Maybe some old FW version on the drive, i have the 4TB model and it sleeps perfectly well.
