Ok this one got me stumped

If i connect directly to the modem my speeds as advertised 150/15

If i connect the modem to the router and then to the pc it drops down to 95/15

No one else is on the network at this time.

What am i missing?

Latest Merlin firmware 384.5 for the AC68U

Are you running any processor intensive services such as QOS, VPN, parental controls?

Thought of that and made sure everything was turned off.

No vpn no qos no network protection and no parental controls.

have you check the ethernet cable used?

When you connect the router to the modem, do you put the modem in pass-through (bridged) mode? You could be getting double NAT processing.

Bloody hell brand new cable and it turns out to be only working at a fraction of the speed it was rated for.

Guess it has to happen once ever ten years or so sheesh.

Thanks folks this turned out to be a cable failure which iam going to go outside and burn in the fire pit lol
