Asus ax82u issues

I have an asus ax82u v2, sometimes the 2.4Ghz stop working (visible but can't connect to it) restart solves it.
Today for the first time my 5Ghz network suddenly disappeared and fixed by a restart.

I have the latest firmware and wondering if there's any chance those problems will be solved by switching to merlin?

Unlikely, nothing Wi-Fi related is changed there. Comes from stock Asuswrt as is. Your issues may be settings related. With no other information shared - no way to know.
