I am trying to setup a home network with an ASUS RT-AX86PRO as the router and an ASUS GT-AXE11000 as an AP with fiber WAN as the main provider and a high speed cable access as a backup/load balancing secondary. I am not trying to do anything fancy other than remote access for diagnostic and maybe occasional data access to cameras, pool status, etc. If someone could point me to where I should start researching and/or drop some helpful hints, it would be appreciated. It might also be useful point sticky a thread with this info for other less than techies to use to configure their network (think your wife/sister/girlfriend when yu are out of town :) ).

If you need proper and reliable Dual WAN with load balancing and fail over/back - you need different equipment. This feature is broken on Asus routers. In case your router runs on Asuswrt-Merlin firmware - the script below may help. In case your router runs on stock Asuswrt - test your luck.
