Asus routers EOL dates.

I bought rt-be86u and i just recently checked asus website to see it will be eol in december 2027. How is that possible that new router has only 2-3 years of support when ac68u had like 10 years of support? What changed there is no point in buying home routers anymore. I will need to learn pfsense and buy it so i will not get disappointed in the future.

Where are you seeing this? Are you confusing EOL with the minimum guaranteed support period that Asus is legally obliged to provide? In the later case, just because they're obliged to support it for say, three years doesn't mean that support will stop on that date.

What page on the website indicated it was end of life on 12/2027? Are you confusing the various countries requirements of minimum support periods for end of life?

Here is an example of a government imposed duration of support. In this case Singapore and security update support duration:
