New Around Here
I have had this router for about 4 months now and it has always had an issue with crashing. This has happened with every firmware I have used up through the latest version of asuswrt-Merlin. I am beginning to think this is an issue with the hardware itself.

What happens is my internet connection will just drop, I think the router just restarts but I am not sure. All I know is everything on the network will lose internet for about 1 minute. I am connected over ethernet and everything else is over wireless.

Do a lot of these routers have this issue or does this sound like hardware? I am just using it to route me internet traffic.

Go to the System Log page on the router, it will show the uptime since the last reboot. It will confirm if it's your router rebooting, or your Internet connection/modem having issues.

I have issues with AC66U crashing after a couple of days , this is the answer
I got from Jereyms replacement this week :

We have observed that some users are having reboots more frequently, and we are looking into this issue. Some have stated reverting back to 3.0.0.4.354 seems more stable.

So perhaps you should trythis f/w and see if you still have problems....

Alright it looks like the last reboot was at 5:03AM which was while I was still asleep. The only thing that would of been connected at that time would be my galaxy S4.

I will give this a try and see if I have better results.

So at least that confirms the router really rebooted, it wasn't just the modem rebooting.

i am having the same issue. My connection just drops off. When I go to the router page 192.168.1.1. for a brief second it says. on the general map under the DDNS page "wait a while for verify... then it changes to go.

The first two days I never had any drop. This is also a wired connection.

yep, switching to the other firmware has cleared up the issue a bit but I also haven't been at my computer as often lately.

I don't have a modem at my place. I get fiber, which goes to their equipment and then routed to the apartments in my building.

did you check the logs to see if there was a reboot? that is what was happening with mine

I am having reboots after a couple of days or after some hours. I am waiting a RMA-number from Jeremy or Adam at Asus to replace the unit.
