New Around Here
Hello,
I am quite new to the Asus-Router. I installed the current Merlin FW and am using the AP-Mode, since Modem, Main Router, DHCP and stuff are already done by other network devices.
The Asus' WAN-Port is connected to Port2 of my Fritzbox 7360SL (it's configured to Power-Mode, thus to use 1Gbit-Connections)
When I was migrating the Asus-Router into my network, I cut the CAT-7 cable and put new RJ-45 connectors on the new ends.
One goes up to the Fritzbox (about 7 meters / 23 feet ). This connection will only establish with a 100MBit-Link.
The second cable goes into my working room with a small Netgear-Gigabit-Switch (about 13 meters / 43 feet). The connection establishes as Gigabit without any trouble.
I wonder if there's a way to force the adapter to permanently use Gigabit without auto negotiation, hoping that the connection will work over gigabit. Does somebody else have that kind of trouble?
Both devices have been restarted and are on the latest software version available. I also tested the original Asus Firmware, but no change.
Best regards
