Hello,
I'm posting this question in the Asus forum because I have the rt-ac68p router, but my issue may not be router-specific. Someone please let me know if this is the wrong sub-forum.
When playing multiplayer games (specifically, Battlefield 4), I am encountering frequent, noticeable lag. Before joining a server, my ping is reported as low, but it invariably goes up once I join the server.
My connection is 1. wired gigabit ethernet on Windows 8.1 PC to 2. a WD My Net AC Wi-Fi Bridge wirelessly connected to 3. the Asus router. My firmware is Release 10 of the Merlin-Fork. Aside from gaming, all other WAN/LAN related tasks appear to work well (with the except of occasional sudden transfer speed drops when transferring files between machines on my local network).
I have tested the game on another machine directly wired via gigabit to the Asus router and it works fine. This leads me to believe that the issue is my particular setup (either wireless in general or Bridge specifically). Also, I have run various online bandwidth speed and quality tests using the "Bridged" PC and the results seem good (fast internet, no dropped packets, average-to-low latency, and little jitter.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
