Asus RT-AC68U 2.4ghz only works with cut through forwarding?

New Around Here
I donno if it's just my router but I doubt it. I have firmware
RT-AC68U_380.57_0.trx installed.

I just made the switch from DD-WRT this month, as I could not get IPTV/ IGMP working through the router what so ever. Merlin seems to have most of the key features and IPTV works virtually straight out the box. To me anyway the lack of features in the GUI is easily made up for by the fact that most of DDWRT's features can be done with scripting, which IMO gives you a better understanding of what your doing.

I used to use QOS but I cannot seem to get QOS and network connectivity on the 2.4 Ghz wireless at the same time, 2.4Ghz devices seem to get connected but have no internet or local network connectivity. It's almost as if the 2.4ghz wireless isn't connected to br0, or firewall rules are blocking it.

It seems when cut through NAT is disabled ( a prerequisite for QOS), I loose 2.4Ghz wireless connectivity. Using telnet, I don't seem to have spotted whats changed under the hood, but even when I reset to factory defaults, disabling cut through NAT or enabling QOS seems to have the same effect every time.

thankfully, you can back up your settings, so I am able to recreate this by resetting to factory defaults then setup the basic internet connection, wireless then turn QOS or disable Cut through nat.

Other than reflashing, trying asus stock firmware to see if the issue is there, or waiting for new firmware, What else can I try? I don't know the label for the 2.4ghz wireless interface. It doesn't seem to have been brought up elsewhere so I'm more inclined to think I've done somthing wrong.

OP> A work around is to put 2.4 in legacy mode, then it will work. Of course that limits you to b/g. For my purposes and 2.4 clients that is not an issue.

Yea I did start my setting with a factory defaults coming from DDWRT the NVram needs a good clear out. I'm not stupid. I did it in the boot loader web if flasher, the reset button, and again on Asus merlin. just to be sure.

But like I said I have backed up my settings and gone back to factory defaults, as the 2.4ghz wireless worked at first, somthing I changed did it, I managed to narrow it down to QOS/Cut through forwarding.

Currently I've just left QOS off. It's nice but I haven't been hammering my connection to hard. It's been just as rock solid as DDWRT was for me.
