Hello everyone,
I am having latency problems with my wireless N. On the router page ping gives this
PING 216.58.216.196 (216.58.216.196): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 216.58.216.196: seq=0 ttl=56 time=47.876 ms
64 bytes from 216.58.216.196: seq=1 ttl=56 time=46.815 ms
64 bytes from 216.58.216.196: seq=2 ttl=56 time=46.909 ms
64 bytes from 216.58.216.196: seq=3 ttl=56 time=46.824 ms
64 bytes from 216.58.216.196: seq=4 ttl=56 time=47.207 ms
64 bytes from 216.58.216.196: seq=5 ttl=56 time=46.820 ms
64 bytes from 216.58.216.196: seq=6 ttl=56 time=47.354 ms
64 bytes from 216.58.216.196: seq=7 ttl=56 time=47.268 ms
64 bytes from 216.58.216.196: seq=8 ttl=56 time=61.894 ms
--- 216.58.216.196 ping statistics ---
9 packets transmitted, 9 packets received, 0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 46.815/48.774/61.894 ms
Compared to on my iPhone 5S connected to the router through Wireless N, I get 97 ms average for same ip with spikes up to 233 ms. Download speed is flickering as well (according to Speedtest)
Wireless settings are 2.4, N only, 20mhz, Control channel auto, WPA AUTO PERSONAL TKIP+AES. I am only upstairs & I get fair coverage.
Any ideas why it would do that? Does it look normal, what other tests should/can I do?
My next step is to upgrade to the latest build and try again from scratch :/
Thank you
