I replaced my old TP-Link Archer C5 router with the new ASUS RT-AC68U router. After this replacement my Sumsung TV nor PS4 Pro does not recognize / detect the universal media server (UMS) on my network. My UMS is installed on windows 10.

UMS runs on port 5001 and I noticed that I cannot telnet on port 5001 from another computer on my LAN. However, I can telnet on port 5001 from the same computer where UMS is installed.

Does this mean that ASUS RT-AC68U is blocking port 5001 for my LAN devices? How can I unblock port 5001?

You shouldn't have to forward or open ports for communication on your own network behind the same firewall.

On the Wireless / Professional tab in the router GUI, do you have “Set AP Isolated” set to Yes? That would prevent wireless clients from talking to each other.

Right, I shouldn't have to. But in my case it seems like the ports are blocked for local devices. As I said, I can't telnet on por

Set AP Isolated is set to NO for both 2.4 ghz and 5.0 ghz.

I just noticed that not only I cannot telnet on port 5001 to the UMS server, but I cannot even ping it.

I would speculate that your Windows 10 machine firewall is not open for incoming traffic on your new subnet after replacing routers. Maybe you set the profile to Public instead of Home when your new network was detected?

This is assuming the old router used 192.168.0.1 and the Asus is using 192.168.1.1.
