Entware Asus RT-AC86U (386.13_2) on AMTM 4.9 - Unable to update Entware Packages and Diversion (4.3.3 to 5.1 or 5.2)

AC86U with FW 386.13_2 and amtm 4.9 with Diversion 4.3.3.

AMTM reports success with updating the packages listed below. However after restarting the router, AMTM reports the same packages available for update. The attached USB (16GB SSD) has been reformatted and Entware reinstalled but seeing the same issue. Also swapped the USB with a new one, same issue

I am also unable to update Diversion from 4.3.3 to 5.1 or 5.2, same issue as above.

It's time for a factory reset and manual rebuild (don't use backups) - you have some very old apps installed. Diversion 4.3.3 is very long in the tooth and pixelserv-tls is long dead.
It's been a long time since you updated and catching up now is a little too late. These are clearly not incrimental updates so they are failing.
 
Just to close out this thread, the issue turned out to be the USB drive. After a restore and a manual config rebuild it was reporting the exact same issue. During testing, it flipped to write protected mode. The 256GB Visiontek USB was spanking new and used solely for these scripts. Dies in less than 4 months

Anyways, had a spare 128GB Nvme4 which is now hooked to the router in an Aluminum enclosure and all is good now. The H/W sits in an open location so hopefully direct USB port heat transfer wont be an issue and this will last longer.
