Asus RT-AC87U Firmware

I need to flash my router Asus RT-AC87U with the Merlin Firmware To use some features that the stock firmware does not have and i have a couple of questions? First can i backup then restore my VPN settings from the factory firmware to the new Merlin? Second is when i go to the Download page and open the folder for that router it shows at the bottom version 380.65 i guess that is the newest but there are 3 zip files 380.65-0, 380.65-2 , 380.65-4 ? which one do i use???

When you change firmware forks you should always do a factory reset after(!) the change to reset all the hidden settings to the right firmware version defaults.

You can save and restore the user entered settings with John's NVRAM Save/Restore Utility to save and restore to/from a USB thumb drive.
Never use the internal save/load feature of the firmware as it also saves/restores the hidden settings which you do not want to have!

Always the latest updated version: currently .65-4!
