New Around Here
Hello all, first post on the boards, but I've lurked for some time reading up. I recently bought the AC88U and had a question about the DNS settings. I've had dnscrypt-proxy installed as a service for sometime on my windows setup and had an old IT buddy tell me about running dnscrpyt through my router (which led me to the boards) Anyway, after reading a bunch of threads in the ASUSWRT-MERLIN section along with the github wikis on Entware, to be honest, it seemed a bit overwhelming for my blood. (I'd be open to give it a go if there was perhaps a video guide if someone had a link to one by chance)
So I guess my question pertains to sticking with the dnscrypt service through windows and configuring open DNS on the router. I have my dnsproxy using dnscrypt.org-fr, which after installation, requires changing the preferred DNS address to 127.0.0.1 (I also set the alternate DNS server to the OpenDNS address)
If I were to say, change the DNS Server in my router to use Open DNS, would imputing the 208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220 addresses have any negative effect given my windows dns addresses would not match?
