Just wondering guys as i have just bought this router brand new from OCUK...
and just today got the router and installed merlin, i hope its the latest firmware i have installed as i wasnt sure
anyway look at the temps, this cant be normal temps, the dam thing is hotter than my pc cpu lol

That's "normal" with ASUS routers. Also the SoCs are made to endure high temps but if you worry, buy a USB powered fan and let it blow at the unit. I agree that ASUS should be doing a better job at cooling the routers. I already have 2 failed ASUS routers due to high temps. Now I'm a bit wiser and if I ever buy another ASUS, I'll make sure to get a fan as well. But that may be not soon as I love my cooler R7000

now do you happen to know im using the latest beta/alpha of the merlin firmware for my router ?
