ASUS RT-AX55 Packet Loss in Gaming when Ethernet or Wifi, Connecting Ethernet from ISP Modem 0% Packet loss

Luicelot

New Around Here
Hello, I currently have an ASUS RT-AX55, and I have been experiencing packet loss from many games, like Fortnite, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, all ingame statistics, and when I do a test on packetlosstest dot com I also get those packet loss, Whether it's on my phone via Wifi or my PC via Browser using Ethernet cable. When I play or do the test with the PC connected directly to the router there is no packet loss, so I am pretty sure now that the modem or the ISP Provider are not the issue, also cero problems on Wifi on the main modem. The packet loss percentage is about between 1% and 5%, and it is only present on the downloads, no packet loss on the uploads for some reason. The packet loss is very noticeable because I can visibly see people on those games teleporting a little or not moving during those loss spikes. I have tested multiple brand new ethernet cables on the connection between my PC and the ASUS RT-AX55, so I suspect the trouble is probably a firmware issue or a simple configuration issue.

Router is on Router mode(I need the Wifi for my Meta Quest wireless setup), so
Here is what I have tried:

- Updating the router's firmware
- Disable and enable DDNS

- Disabling wireless network (I really need it so not an option for me, also irrelevant because packet loss stays the same)
- Enabling QoS using every single config available. Or disabling it.

- Disabling Switch Control

- Restoring the router to factory default settings about 10 times, testing on gaming and packet loss program after fresh reset and anfer configuring some recommended settings I found online. After every factory reset I unplugged the router about 1 minute to make sure it is fresh. Also unplugged the main modem from my ISP Provider before testing, same story on ethernet and Wifi on my Asus router.

I only have my Phone connected to the wifi and my Pc connected to the ethernet cable. Also I don't have any neighbors close to my home so I can consider any interference from them.

The only thing I have not tried before is to downgrade the firmware of the router, but I don't really know where to find those files, I tried, also I don't know if it is recommended.

I don't really know what can I possibly do to fix this problem, I really came here as a last resource, thanks in advance for the people that are willing to help me in this journey.

Asus RT-AX55 is an entry-level router model with limited set of features. If it doesn't perform as expected for your needs - send it back. There is a good chance your ISP provided gateway is the better hardware device.
