ASUS RT-BE92U - Wifi Issues

New Around Here
Hi all

I have the above router and am having a few teething problems, mainly with wi-fi. The phone on wi-fi 7 is generally good, but the other devices on wifi 6 etc are not so good. I am getting slow connections and random disconnects etc. I have a couple of former routers and an access point forming a mesh network.

I have tried tweaking a few things, but this has not improved the situation. If anyone has any ideas on how best to improve it would be appreciated (such as tweaking any of the professional settings etc).

Also, if i try to add another main network i get the message 'Your rules have reached the maximum'. I cannot see where to change it so i can add another? Does anyone know where this option is?

I have also noticed that on the speed test tab under the Adaptive QoS i cannot now measure the speed.... i just have a symbol saying 10Gbps for receive and transmit.... this changed a couple of firmware updates ago. Has anyone else noticed this?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Matt

Thanks for the reply... yeah i understand that.... i was just wondering if there are any ideal settings for channels etc or any way of tweaking things to get the best possible speeds etc.

I have nothing to comment as well. I bought two BE92 routers and connected them using wired backhaul AiMesh. I enabled MLO, and this way, devices switch seamlessly between the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6 GHz networks depending on their range and capabilities and it's working like a charm using the latest firmware 3.0.0.6.102_37526

Note: I did not enable AiProtection (I feel a big slowdown when browsing the web in website load times and uploading files) and did not enable QoS (never will on any router for that matter)

Different regions have different Wi-Fi regulations for channels availability and allowed power. All users have different Wi-Fi environments. There is no universal best settings and there is a chance your "couple of former routers and an access point" make things worse. All devices using the same channels share the total available bandwidth and take turns to send/receive data. This includes devices on your network as well as devices on other networks around you. If you mix different generations routers and APs the slowest one may impact negatively your entire network performance.
