I have a problem with my Asus RT-N56U. I have USB-disk connected to it and I can access the disk through SMB and FTP. But the problem is that I can't transfer folders to the disk with FTP, I just get a permission error 550 on the FTP-client, I can transfer files and create folders through FTP though. SMB works just fine, I can transfer folders and everything.

Any ideas?

Just guessing what's going on here, but normal FTP is not recursive. That is, you can create a directory via FTP, and then you can put files into it. Then if that directory has another directory in it, you can make that directory, and transfer files into it. You cannot normally do the equivalent of a UNIX "cp -r" with FTP that will create the directories and copy the files in one operation.

So what you're seeing sounds like normal FTP to me.

Sounds like normal FTP indeed.

Most folks use a client that translates "drag-n-drop" to those simple commands.

I can recommend FileZilla
