Hey guys,
I've got an ASUS RT-N66R router running Asuswrt-Merlin 378.55 at home behind a ARRIS SB6183 at 200Mbps connection. When I connect from my office to my house over SSH over a VPN service, by redirecting with WAN/Port forwarding I have some issues maintaining an SSH connection. If I do a list output on a large directory or print the text of a large text file, I get kicked off. This is with Putty SSH and also Linux ssh client in a VM. I figure this might be some kind of MTU issue since SSH sends lots of small packets for every character typed and received. I noticed that when not using a VPN, it doesn't have an issue.
What can I do on the Merlin router to handle this better? Or is this just a VPN problem?
Thanks.
