Asus RT-N66U ASUSWRT-MERLIN Version 380.57.0 WiFi Dropping

Luigi Calamar

New Around Here
I upgraded from 378.56.2 to 380.57.0. After doing so my WIFI became very unstable - so I went back to 378.56.2. whereas I am now very stable again

For my upgrade I did not do a hard reset - is that necessary for this upgrade? If I do - can I use my configuration file to restore?

What else might cause this - note that 375.56.2 is very stable - happy to stay here, just want to make sure I didn't miss anything

Always the same question: Which router model do you have with this issue?

And always the same answer: Reset to factory defaults only makes sense AFTER the update to new firmware version to get the hidden defaults of the NEW firmware!

I had problems with network map with 380.57 before clearing nvram. So yes, you need to hard reset, and no, you can not use your configuration file to restore, make settings by hand or use john's NVRAM Save/Restore Utility.
