Hey everyone new member and a super noob when it comes to networking.
So i have Time warner cable internet servie provider and they provided me with a Ubee DDW3611 Modem which is set up in the center of the apartment. My room is only 15 feet away from the modem and my wifi is slow and signal drop outs often, so i bought an Asus RT-N66U Router and not sure if it's configured correctly....
I attached an ethernet cable to the modem all the way to my room and plugged it into my Asus ethernet port, i'm not sure if its working at optimum performance since it's my first router. I have it set up as Wireless router mode (Default) from the box am i suppose to choose Access Point(AP) mode? Should i put it in Bridge mode? i don't know how to configure this at all and the range on it it's not very far either maybe something i'm missing? Should i do the firmware i read up on the DDWRT or Merlins? Please help
