New Around Here
Hi All

Sorry first of all if this post is in the wrong category / section.

I just signed up to a new 24 month contract with EE in the UK and got a Samsung Galaxy S8 to replace my S6 so I could use EE's wifi calling because I have moved to a poor cell reception area.

I have tried for days to get wifi calling on my Asus RT-N66U router which until now has performed wonderfully and was running Asus WRT Merlin. I eventually thought I would try the awful free router I received from my broadband supplier (BT UK) and wifi calling works perfectly with that. So while I am pleased wifi calling is working I now know the Asus is at fault. I tried the very latest WRT Merlin firmware (14th Oct 2017) and then reflashed it with the very latest stock Asus WRT firmware and nothing made any difference. I also tried opening the following ports on the Asus router and still no joy:

TCP ports in the range 5060-5061
UDP ports in the range 40283-59999
UDP port 4500 (IKEv2)
UDP port 500 (IKEv2)

I have read countless of forum posts online the last few days and some have complained that their Asus routers were not working with wifi calling but yet lots of others say their's is fine. So does anyone know please of any settings I can try to set, enable or disable on the Asus router so wifi calling will work on it because the crappy free one while working with wifi calling doesn't have a great wifi range so would like to go back to using the Asus.

Many Thanks

Rab

There's no need to open ports for wifi calling to work. You just need "IPsec Passthrough" in the WAN/NAT passthrough section enabled.

Hello! I am having the same issue, but everything in the WAN/NAT Passthrough section is enabled. I have the
RT-AC3100.
