Hi All,
I have recently moved my primary DNS server from my Asus router (RT-AC68U) to a Windows Server (2012R2) on the same network. All working fine and I can create custom A records on the Windows Server however my DHCP clients are not registering on the Windows DNS server. I still have DNS running (and configured as secondary) on the Router and if I use nslookup to query client IP / Name against the Router, they are resolved fine.
Is there anything I need to do to the DHCP config on the router to instruct it to register DHCP clients to the Windows DNS server ?
DHCP is currently performed by the Asus router.
Thanks for any assistance,
Rob.
Edit:
Is it just a case of updating /etc/resolv.conf which currently contains:
admin@RT-AC68U:/tmp/etc# cat resolv.conf
nameserver 127.0.0.1
