Upgrade from 386.7_2 went smooth. The only issue identified is that the cpu_wait variable disappeared, so I cannot set it. As a result the cpu temperature increased from 67 to 72 degrees Celsius when the router is idle. @RMerlin could you check if this is intentionally done in new ASUS GPL or is a bug?

Yes. After one hour I will reboot again, but the problem is that cpu_wait variable does not exist anymore.

I remember that I've used cpu_wait in the past. My router always keeps cpu temperature around 66-67 in idle state. Now it is 72. I am wondering what is the reason? I cannot revert now to 386.7_2 to verify the issue because the time slot for router maintenance obtained from my wife expired

I have an A1 model so its turned off for me. Also a 5 degree increase in temps is nothing to worry about.

Yes, it is the command I looked for. I remember that there was such command, but forgot it and wrongly decided that there is a nvram variable named "cpu_wait". Thank you for reminding me the right way to manipulate power options.

So now I've checked the status - the cpuwait is ENABLED as it was configured on my router, so the temperature increase is of another origin. Yes, 5 degree increase in not to worry about, but why upgrade from 386.7_2 to 386.8 results in such increase?

You are with H/W A1.1, I am with A1 .... That is the difference. Seems to be that 386.8 increased the CPU temperature with 5 degrees on H/W A1 ...

Shows up many "WOODY" adresses from the US by testing the VPN with dns-leak.com
Used Quad9 as DNS and for DoT, maybe its there Servers in the US (not swiss) but not sure about it

You can check yourself via ipleak.net - it will tell you the IP address (VPN or provider), geolocation and more details - as well as the DNS servers used!

By the way: There is no free lunch here! Either you pay with your data for a free service or you pay with money for the right secure service...

These temperatures mean nothing. They depend on ambient temperature in the room and other factors. What is important is the difference between 386.7_2 and 386.8. Did you compared the CPU temperature between 386.7_2 and 386.8?
