Asuswrt-Merlin Web interface crashes

New Around Here
Hi,

I have recently updated my RT-AC68U Firmware to 378.51 from RT-AC68U_3.0.0.4_376.48_1.

When accessing some features ie Traffic Analyser and USB application in the web interface, the Web interface crashes and stops responding but the router continues to function. I have to power cycle the router in order to restore the Web interface but it continues to crash when accessing the Traffic Analyser and USB application again.

Any idea's

Many Thanks.

Enable the JFFS partition, this is required for Traffic Analyzer. BTW, JFFS should already be enabled if you did the factory default reset required when moving from a 376 to a 378 build.

My bad. I didn't do a factory reset. Can i still perform a factory reset and re-install 378 over the top?

Thanks.

same problem but for me use AC87U
378.56_2
- enable JFFS not fix
- format JFFS not fix
- factory reset not fix
- clear nvram not fix.
- flash stock firmware not fix
- downgrade not fix

Traffic Analyzer menu every version always permanently failed , got watchdog: httpd restart.

I temporary go back an old firmware without Traffic Analyzer.

-----UPDATE-----
new information!!
my bro used to flash OpenWrt on my AC87U.
that cause JFFS2 partition corrupted and can not recover from Asus base firmware.

solution by me: :)
flash DD-WRT AC87U by Asus Firmware Restoration in rescue mode.
ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/11-02-2015-r28072/asus-rt-ac87u/

instruction to enable JFFS2 on DD-WRT
scroll down to Directions for (normal) users: using Web-GUI Interface

Finally, re-flash Asus stock firmware in rescue mode.
now, I can use Traffic Analyzer full function without any problem.

good luck

I have an AC68U running firmware 380.58.
The router was running great for the past month with no reboot. I switched to the statistics tab in traffic analyzer and lost the Gui. Router was still functional with ssh access but no Web interface. I restarted the httpd (no reboot) and interface was back.
However 1 CPU was stuck at 100% and returning to the statistics tab immediately crash again httpd.
Tried multiple times to restart httpd but it crashed each time statistics was selected.
I had to reboot to fix the issue.
Traffic history location is set to RAM

If this can help, attached the output of the top command and file size of the jffs partition.
You can note that IOs represents 50% of cpu load (100% of one cpu) and traffic.db is 19MB.

I had exactly the same issue after trying OpenWrt, also adaptive QoS not working, JFFS under stock or Merlin not working. Had to flash DD-Wrt and enable/format JFSS from DDWrt then flash Merlin and all working again.
Thanks for this info !
