Attached HDD won't mount

N66u keeps telling me that the usb hdd attached to the router is "unmounted". I've rebooted the router, switched usb port, clicked on " I have plugged USB disk, renew the system status." and yet nothing...ideas?

how did you format the disk?

if you formatted a linux format, did you first use something like gparted to wipe out the old partition tables, set the disk to a single linux type 83 partition and then chose to format the partition rather than the disk ? (sda1 rather than sda)

Problem solved

Regular NTFS.. but it works now. I just plugged it in to my laptop started watching a movie (for about an hour), unmounted it in win8 and when i plugged it back in to the N66u it started working again. Only thing i can think of is that i didnt use the n66u's "eject" feature and this made the router act up?
