Unfortunately the dyndns account expires 30 day without update. users of cable usually have a semi static line. since the router only updates the new ip after it changed, there is a high risk that the account expires.
This can be circumvented by adding the following line to cron:
wget -O - "http://usernameassword@members.dyndns.org/nic/update?hostname=your_domain.xxx"
