I currently have AutoBW set and using the default of the average of the last 10 tests. Can the current average values be exposed somewhere, maybe in the settings page? I'd like to know what spdMerlin is using as my current averages. The speedtest graphs have average speeds for all of my historical tests which isn't the same thing.

Dear Jack,

While we are at it, I'd like to suggest a note/sentence about the monthly volume used for spdMerlin.

spdMerlin knows the frequency and could present the expected "bill"/total to the user. The text could be something like
"Considering the current settings, expect spdMerlin to use approximately &&& GB monthly." (I'm not an English native speaker, take it with a grain of salt.) Say, 500MB per single speedtest. One test every hour. 360GB monthly.

The data usage per single test could come from spdMerlin database, or be estimated as e.g. 1MB per Mbps of the tested line.

Based on what I read in forums, some people seem to not see/feel the difference between the cost/weight of connmon (which is low) and spdMerlin (which can be very significant on fast lines). Somewhere, "someone" pays the electricity/environmental bill. In my eyes, it'd be cool if users were informed of the expected monthly data volume for SpdMerlin. That AutoBW status text seems like the perfect place to provide that information. And I guess the use case of AutoBW "people" is typically to run spdMerlin "forever". So, let's help them make an informed decision.

For what it's worth, my main usage for spdMerlin was to gather evidence while diagnosing past connection issues with my ISP. Currently, my line is reasonably fast and stable, so I don't need AutoBW.

Thank you again for your tools and your attention. I have used connmon extensively recently :) . (BTW: I have noticed that, at my place, 1.1.1.1 and 9.9.9.9 gave me significantly less consistent results (i.e. more packet loss) than 8.8.8.8 or my own ISP's servers)

Take care
Best regards
W.
