Automatically organize files on attached storage

Hey guys, so this is a bit oddly specific...

Current setup:

  • RT-N66R - Merlin 376.45, 1TB HDD attached via USB, Entware installed on attached 1GB USB stick (soon to be 2GB internal SD, but I digress)
  • Raspberry Pi - RaspBMC, transmission-daemon

I have all of my media files organized into separate folders on the 1TB HDD, i.e. Movies, TV Shows, Music, Pictures, etc., mounted as a network share on the Pi. So, hypothetically, if I download a few TV shows and a new album using transmission, again hypothetically, I would like to have those files automatically sorted into their respective folders.

My question is this: Which device would you have take care of the sorting, the RT-N66U or the RPi? And how would you go about doing this?

I've got both devices. IMHO, it's better to move all non-router functions to RPi.

Take a look at Torrentexpander. It can sort\unpack torrents right after it has been downloaded.

PS Somebody asked me to adapt torrentexpander for routers, but it's better to use it on RPi anyway.

Awesome, that's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for.
