Hello,

Is it normal to have 169.255.x.x IP range on the routing table? I bought this HG612 from Amazon. Was literally plug and play until I saw that 169 ip, then tried accessing the modem GUI. Was unable to, so I flash it with unlocked version with web GUI. Can access it now, but afraid to configure anything . Wanted to try changing IP for modem GUI WAN access, but I'll make a mess of it. If this is normal then it's fine I guess, also have Vigor 2765ac I can use in bridge mode?

That's normal for PPPoE connections.

I'm assuming you mean 169.254 and not the 169.255 in your title.

Yes sorry. Ah fine. I'll leave the modem alone. Was just worried some of my trace route was timing out. But did a trace route via Network Tools in the router, only one hop showing ** **

traceroute to 9.9.9.9 (9.9.9.9), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets
1 172.16.11.89 (172.16.11.89) 5.224 ms * *
2 * * *

Thanks Colin!
