@RMerlin with 1Gbs fiber router ax86u with asus merlin without QoS disabled, I suffer bufferbloat why? And with dumaos with QoS I don't have bufferbloat, why is that?. The QoS if I activate it on Asus is worse
And with dumaos with QoS I don't have bufferbloat, why is that?
So I ignore bufferbloat tests? The thing is that when I had QoS disabled and I also tried it activated I had high latencies in the tests and with dumaos that did not happen. So I guess with 1GB fiber with Asus Ax86u you would have no losses or lags when gaming when there is a lot of network traffic on the router. The tests are what generated that doubt in me.If the goal is to make bufferbloat test site happy - use whatever runs DumaOS. Otherwise there is no need for QoS on Gigabit fiber ISP.
Ok, thank you for clarifying my doubt and then with my 1GB fiber connection on the Asus merlin ax86u, how do I leave the QoS disabled or activated? The tests saturate your ISP connection and create the bufferbloat condition you see. With normal daily use you have no bufferbloat. Your games need low latency and you have it on fiber. They don't need Gigabit speed. You are basically fighting with a problem you don't have with normal Internet use. In your case any QoS will very likely throttle your connection 95% of the time for something that may eventually happen in 5% of the time.
how do I leave the QoS disabled or activated?
Ok then I leave it disabled like the photo better right?
Yes, thank you, I didn't quite understand the concept of the test until now. but since it is only in case of very extreme conditions I leave QoS disabled as it comes and that's it, quiet game, there should be no delays. I thought that test meant I would have a worse connection. On a 1G fiber connection, QOS should be totally disabled.
The fact that you have buffer bloat during a speed test means you're able to saturate your connection, that's all. Unless you are saturating your 1G connection constantly, there is no reason to use QOS or care about buffer bloat.
Ok then I leave it disabled like the photo better right?
