Dear All,

My AIMESH router is AX86U-PRO and my AIMESH node is AX11000.
Recently after the merlin firmware update to the 388.8.0 , I found something weird. My authentication method is setup to be both http/https (Administration->System->Authentication Method -> BOTH)

1. When I click upload firmware for the remote AIMESH node (trying for the 388.8.2) and login, it will indicate detecting and then said GT-AX11000 suggest
(a) Ensure that your AIMESH router has been powered on
(b) Reboot your AIMESH router and try again.

2. Despite what I do, it will not work. It will keep indcating the "Unable to connect to the Parent AP"

3. I go to AIMESH router AX86U-PRO and then set the authentication method back to "http" only and then try again, it will work.

Anyone aware about this problem and will this be fix ?

Best Regards,
WH

You have discovered the solution. Do not use https! There is no real need for the additional security of https inside a network, LAN, that you control.

thank you Ripshod. But earlier firmware can support. If I use ddns to remotely access the router , I used to use https://<ddns>:8443 . Would there be an issue if I use http:// now to access the aimesh router via wan?

Best Regards

It's a bug, report it to 388.8 release thread.

Don't open Web access from WAN, security issue.
