AX86U PRO Surfshark Wireguard

First I should state that I'm not deeply technical. I used the surfshark VPN app and it has worked all the time on each device. However, I am in Costa Rica for an extended period (live in Nevada USA) and wanted to still watch my streaming shows. I have a few problems but I want to solve them one at a time to avoid my own confusion.
So, I installed surfshark wireguard US server location on the AX86U Pro router and it seems to work for my Samsung TV because I can now view my shows. But my laptop and phone and it seems any other device pass the DNS test but fail the IP and web-rtc test. Does anyone have any thoughts on why this might occur?
Please let me know if there is information I should post that would provide any clues.

Do the browsers on the laptop and phone use the router DNS or do they use DOH?

I looked up DOH and followed the instructions to check Windows 11 wifi properties but I couldn't find anything that referred to it for the laptop - the closest I could get was a window in Settings that said DNS server assignment - Automatic DHCP (and the same value for IP assignment). For my phone, it's a stock iphone 16 pro so I'm also not sure how to answer that question.

Web browsers have a separate setting for DNS security. Not too sure about the iPhone. I use Firefox on the iPhone and not Safari

Forgot to ask...are you using the AX86U Pro in Costa Rica or is it set up back in Nevada and you are trying to connect to it via VPN?
