New Around Here
I am running the basic Asus firmware Version 3.0.0.6.102_34336-gc04af06_403-gd851b
I have created a VLAN and assinged it the network I created in the Network pro section. The VLAN seems to be working all ok giving out IP etc and on the subnet of the VLAN. The issue I have is now is the parental controls I had setup for my sons computer to disable internet at X time no longer seems to work. He is on the VLAN as I thought it would be a good security measure to keep him away from my network since he is now getting into experimenting with things on the computer. As much as you tell them to not download this or be carful about this when they are 11 they know everything.
I did find an old post about that Parental controls dont work with the VLAN but that was posted sometime ago and from what I could tell they were using a BETA BIOS. So I was wondering if anyone out there knows if this is still a bug or if I have missed something. Even better if there was some solution to this or if its a case of well you either use VLAN or parental controls which is just silly.
I am not really brave enough to start putting on 3rd party firmware as I have trust issues and not enough knowledge to check its secure etc to feel safe in doing so.
Thanks
