Hi,

I am looking for an entry level course about networking. Just a book doens't work with me. Any recommendations for online with video or hands on training in the SF Bay Area?

Hands on can help knowing how to pull cable and so on. But you have to learn by lecture and reading how the protocol stacks work, from PHY to NWK.

Most classes use books to teach you with.
Try local community college and see if they have a night classes that are more hands on.
Local community centers, libraries.

You can try posting an add on craigslist, but youll have to negotiate a fee with a person that gives you lessons.

Also check out dummies.com, they have a bunch of books on networking.

In our area we have a vo tech that teaches copper, fiber, routers, firewalls, pretty much what you need. Once a year, usually 3 hours at nite twice a week for 8-10 weeks. I take various courses there from time to time as courses catch my interest, the welding one was fun as was the auto painting. If you just want one of general networking take the basic cisco CCNA class, not sure how much they cost now though. They supply the routers, switches, PC's, cables, etc and prep you for the first certification test. Heck see if you can get your employer to pay for it.:D
The advantage of the adult courses are they cover what you really want/need.
