Best channel settings for 5ghz on N66U?

1. Is "auto" the best for finding the best channel?
a. How often does it change based on interference, if at all?
b. Are low or high channels preferred? I haven't really seen much difference either way, though.

2. Should I leave the channel bandwidth at 20/40 or 40? Does it always try for 40 even in 20/40 mode?

I use ch 161 and 40 , but I'm out in the wilderness , no one close by .
