Best HDD Spindown

I currently have mine set to 15 minutes or 900 sections. I know the minimum is 300. I'm just trying to figure out what is optimum so my HDD will last.

This depends on your usage pattern. In general, one hour is a good value if your typical access can involve multiple short-period accesses during an extended period of time (like the evenings). If you only push your backups once per night, then set it to 15 mins so it will only spin down once a day.
