So should one use the default HTTP or more secure HTTPS ?
that would change the stock asus http 192 address bar entrance to router interface correct?
Thank you in advance

Are we recommending to flash to defaults if coming from 380.62_1 on a RT-AC68U-B1?

Seems like something is causing httpd to crash for a lot of people. I thought initially it was only MIPS routers since it crashed my AC66U but not my AC88U, but now I see reports that it also crashes for some ARM models. I will remove the beta for now, and see if I can track down the cause today. Not much has changed since the last alpha, so shouldn't be too hard to track down hopefully.

Found the cause of the crash (only occurs in a certain situation). I will upload Beta 2 builds later today.

Which of these ciphers is the safest?

AES-256-CBC, however it carries a significant performance hit. For personal use, AES-128-CBC is quite secure, and would probably require the resources of a nation-state to crack.

It looks like there are classifications that are not registering. This is the QOS chart classified by priority and "VOIP and instant messaging" and "others" are not registering(zero counts) after the initial hour and 53 minutes from not too busy 3 clients at this point which I know should have numbers already. All categories were working in the Alphas but not now.

There has been no change to that code in beta 1. Chances are either you didn't have any traffic in those classes, or the DPI engine isn't able to classify any traffic into those classes for some reason. I do have traffic in all classes here (I use a Cisco ATA for VoIP).

"Oct 30 04:39:26 kernel: TCP: time wait bucket table overflow"

These occasionally happen after a freshly rebooted router because something on the LAN is flooding the router with connection attempts while the router is still in the process of booting and establishing a WAN connection.

In the tools - Sysinfo, MAC address is not all I have!

That's because those clients haven't renewed their DHCP leases yet, so the router's DNS doesn't know their hostnames. Once they do, hostnames will be shown again.

Can't change to HTTP auth and can't downgrade it to the alpha build anymore!

Use Asus' Firmware Recovery tool.

I know "others" is a category aside from all, just wondering what it is measuring

The following category (don't ask me for details, only Trend Micro would know what these categories actually mean):

Code:
7,Database
10,Remote Access Terminals
11,Bypass Proxies and Tunnels

Also categories 21 and 23, which aren't listed in their config files.

I just for a hoot enabled HTTPS and voila duplicated the problem with wonky GUI etc. lost connections
Got it back to HTTP and all is well

For security reasons HTTPS is clearly to prefer. The new adress to enter is https://192.168.1.1:8443 ( if u set standard port in webgui).
https://192.168.1.1:8443
doesn't function (Chrome, Firefox)

Beta 2 has been uploaded, fixing the crashing httpd service and the missing charts on IPTraffic's monthly page.

Stuck the beta 2 on my RT-AC68U and so far no issues.

Successfully up and running on Beta 2 with both RT-AC68U (GUI worked without issue with Beta 1) and RT-N66R (which had issues with Beta 1). Thanks for the super fast turnaround.
